Life Threatening Bleeding

Life Threatening Bleeding

Course information:

Maximum number of delegates is 16

Duration: minimum 3 hours

Entry requirements:

Learners must hold a valid First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work certificate to attend this course.

The course teaches people how to recognise and control severe, life‑threatening bleeding.

It covers how to use tourniquets and haemostatic dressings safely and correctly—both of which are advanced first‑aid tools used when bleeding cannot be controlled by simple pressure.

These techniques carry inherent risks if used incorrectly, so the training aims to ensure participants understand when and how to use them.

The goal is to give learners the knowledge and confidence to act quickly and effectively in emergencies where someone could bleed to death.

Qualification

A non-regulated certificate of achievement will be awarded to those who demonstrate the required level of competence.
